This week, we are are focusing all of our efforts on ways to COOL OFF! It’s hot out there, folks! So, today, let’s make a little cool treat!
Fun side note. When our team sent this home project over, I couldn’t help but recall this 80’s Saturday morning PSA from Time-for-Timer. Enjoy the flashback below!
Don’t worry, we also have our usual photo tutorial for you. These clear photo tutorials are meant to make it easier for your kids to follow directions with less assistance from you :-).
- Cling Wrap
- Tooth Picks
- Juice (if you only have juice boxes, that works too!)
- Ice Cube Tray
- Fruity Additon-*If you have strawberries you could cut up small pieces to add as well.Yum!
STEP 1: (If you only have Juice Boxes)
Cut the juice box so it is easier to pour.
Fill the ice cube tray with your juice.
Wrap your tray in Cling Wrap.
Put toothpicks in the middle of each tray (the Cling Wrap will hold them up). Place tray of treats in freezer to freeze for a few hours.
Eat and enjoy!
STAY COOL, EVERYONE!
Did you ever wish that you could make your own ice cream? Well it’s time to get movin’ and groovin’ as you make a tasty treat of vanilla ice cream!*
*Oh get ready… dance moves included!
- 1 Cup Milk (Or half-n-half)
- 2 TBSP Granulated Sugar
- 3 Cups Ice
- 1/3 Cup Kosher Salt
- 2 Resealable gallon size plastic bags.
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoons
Pour milk, sugar, and vanilla into a gallon size resealable plastic storage bag. Push out excess air and seal.
In the second resealable plastic bag, combine ice and salt. Place the milk bag with ingredients, inside the ice bag and salt. These are still two separate bags.
Shake vigorously, 7 to 10 minutes, until ice cream has hardened. You can even do your favorite dance moves!
Remove from bag and enjoy with your favorite toppings!!
Who doesn’t love pizza?! Here’s a fun and colorful twist. This is also a great way to introduce new fruits to your child! The more colors and shapes, the better! (And exclamation marks!!!!)
We hope you enjoy making our simple healthier fruit option. You can even make a silly face!
- Watermelon and any kind of fruit.
- Packaged fruit cups work great too!
- Sweet additions can be chocolate chips or marshmallows
- Anything you want, really 😉
Have your parent help you cut one slice of watermelon. Slice bananas and any other fruit.
Be creative and decorate your fruity pizza.
Enjoy your tasty treat!
